Education
Ms. Montoya’s undergraduate degree in psychology with an emphasis in early childhood development from UC Berkeley makes her a particularly compelling and effective advocate in child custody and visitation disputes.
Ms. Montoya received her Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco.

Depth of Experience
Ms. Montoya began her legal career as a law clerk for the Children’s Law Center of Sacramento. While there, she worked with the supervising attorney to help abused and neglected children in Sacramento County. She tirelessly researched the law, child welfare outcome statistics, and services for at-risk youth in the foster care system.
​
She went on to a judicial clerkship for the Honorable Michael Isaku-Begert, a Superior Court judge in San Francisco.
​
Ms. Montoya has shown her passion for family law from her early involvement as a law clerk and judicial clerk as well as her volunteer work with California Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).
​
Ms. Montoya’s previous years of experience from various sides of the family court judicial process add an extra depth of experience to her family law skill set on top of her knowledge as a family law attorney.
​
Background
Before embarking on her family law career, Ms. Montoya grew up in Nevada County. She is a dedicated wife and mother, has a fondness for the outdoors, enjoys glamping (outdoor camping with amenities and comforts), Sunday brunch, red wine, interior design, and crafting with her children.
